A counseling tool uniquely designed to facilitate and enhance communication about feelings and needs, increase self-awareness, and promote an action plan to deal with the identified feelings.

Picture yourself in a counseling session with a non-verbal child. It's not that the child can't talk, it's that the child has difficulty sorting out and expressing feelings. You bring out your Talk Blocks and ask the child to choose one of the illustrated blocks that shows how he or she feels. Aftr the feeling is identified, the child chooses one of the "I Need" blocks to communicate what action is required to cope with the feeling. For example, a child may choose a feeling block that says, "I'm pressured" and then an action block that says, "I need to calm down." And from there, a client-initiated productive session begins.

This unique individual counseling tool allows children and adolescents to express their concerns in a non-threatening way.

Talk Blocks For Work has six illustrated blocks--three "I feel" and three" I need" blocks each with four illustrations. By manipulating the blocks the child or adolescent has a choice of 12 different feelings and 12 different actions. An individual counseling tool that can be used time and time again as clients become more verbal and expressive.
