Working together produces greater results in every segment of society. Spotlight On Life Skills produces similar results in today’s middle schools.

This program unites students, teachers, and administrators to develop behaviors that will enhance students’ functioning now and in the future. Divided into 41 different topics and including extras for six holidays, the program’s 170 daily lessons can easily be provided by the counselor for presentation to homeroom teachers four days a week by using the included CD. A discussion period follows the teacher’s short introduction, and the teacher later summarizes an administrator’s comments to the entire school. Every student hears the same message, discusses the same subject, and is given the same task to perform during the day. Students, teachers, and administrators work together to make the school a better place for learning. Topics include:

  • Responsibility
  • Respect
  • Cooperation
  • Accountability
  • Work Habits
  • Coping Skills
  • Test-Taking
  • Friendship Skills
  • Study Skills
  • Bullying
  • Personal Growth

This tried and true program, written by a middle school counselor from Maryland, has been in operation for five years and feedback from students gives it a 95%-100% on all questions asked as to the helpfulness of the material presented. Give your students the opportunity to have the best middle school experience possible by incorporating Spotlight On Life Skills into your daily curriculum. It is working in Maryland and it will work for you.
