Young students are invited to become members of A School of Champions by learning and using good study skills. This program targets the youngest of our students in grades Kindergarten through second grade because it is never too early to begin teaching good study habits.
Kindergarten children will delight when Champ, the playful puppy, comes into their classroom and learns along with them the importance of trying hard, listening, doing work before playing, and working with others.
First-grade children will relate to Champ's brother, Clover, when he learns with them more about listening and trying hard, but also about using time wisely, organization, and test taking skills.
Second-grade children meet with Champ and Clover's sister, Scout. She reviews with them the importance of listening, trying hard, and organization. In addition the students acquire knowledge of proofreading, the importance of reading directions carefully, and more good test-taking skills.
Each grade level unit includes 6 lessons, activity sheets, and it's own special A School Of Champions song. Also included is a pre- and post-test for evaluation. Follows the ASCA standards.
Adding the barking black and white puppy puppet to your program will give your students a visual aid to associate with each lesson.
