School bus safety is a primary issue in all schools, but there are factors that neither the school nor the bus driver can control.
The purpose of this film is to help educate young people about potential problems that can result from students not paying attention at the bus stop. The story features Bobby, a third grader, as he copes with some events where he is treated with disrespect by some other students. Excited about a good report from his teacher, Bobby is anxious to share the good news with his mother when he makes a big mistake. He does not follow the instructions he has learned for crossing safely in front of the bus and he and a car collide. As Bobby’s classmates wait to learn about the outcome, viewers have time to reflect on the importance of following safe procedures.
