Ocho is the story of an octopus who ventures into his sea community and finds his sea animal friends have changed from caring and considerate creatures to selfish and inconsiderate ones. Alarmed at the change in his community, Ocho returns to his home and there, with his cousin Ozzie, devises a plan to change his sea animal friends back to their normal selves.

The book includes the original story of Ocho and is followed by discussion questions and follow-up activities. Literature-based lessons are one of educators’ most effective techniques, and by adding Ocho to your library, you will have a clever and interesting story that teaches what can happen when the members of a community forget or discard their good character traits and slip into less-desirable behaviors.
