Empathy Counts is an educational game developed to teach young people to understand the concept of empathy. It is designed for students in grades 2-7 and can also be used with older students. This game takes an incremental approach, teaching basic skills and moving on to more complex skills. The game comes with a set of dominoes and four decks of Question Cards: Friendship, Activities and Hobbies, At School, and All About Myself. Players will learn how to recognize feelings in others and what is causing those feelings; learn how to compare and contrast their opinions with the opinions of others; learn to listen carefully to others and understand what they are saying; and practice saying positive things to others with uncomfortable feelings, in order to help them feel better.
